Before the meeting

The Topic Discussion Leader shares a self-contained summary, idea map, and selected references at least one day in advance. Every participant reads the summary and prepares one question or critique.

One-hour structure

  1. Topic overview — 5 minutes. Establish the problem and vocabulary.
  2. Core insight — 15 minutes. Identify what has truly changed and why it matters.
  3. Critique — 15 minutes. Test assumptions and failure boundaries.
  4. Connections — 10 minutes. Relate the topic to current group research.
  5. Brainstorming — 15 minutes. Produce concrete experiments, benchmarks, theories, or methods.

After the meeting

The leader records changed views, key insights, critiques, research opportunities, concrete next steps, and action items. The note is an intellectual summary, not a transcript.
